Integrating young people’s perspectives in decision making
The German youth-check is a regulatory impact assessment tool to analyse the impact of federal legislation on young people aged between 12 and 27 years. The youth-check contributes to good legislation and raises awareness of young people’s concerns during the legislative process. With the youth-check, bills of the German Federal Government are examined with regard to their effects on young people between 12 and 27 years of age. Both intended and unintended effects of the proposed legislation are thereby identified. The youth-check is carried out by the Competence Centre Youth-Check (ComYC).
